48 Hour Film Project - Challenge - November 2015


2015 SCREENING EVENT -  Saturday, November 14th, 2015 - Doors Open at 12:30pm -

Location:   Anfiteatro #1, Facultad de Estudios Generales, Universidad de PR, Recinto de Rio Piedras, PR

All 20 Films that were made during the 48 Hour Film Challenge San Juan will screen at this event.

2 Blocks of films Block A and Block B - Block A Starts at 1pm.   Block B Starts at 4pm.

EACH TEAM WILL BE GIVEN 2 FREE TICKETS for the Screening Event.   (To the Team Leader)

Following the screening, the awards will be given for the films at around 6pm.



Ticket Price is $10.00 and includes entry from 1pm through Awards.   One price for the whole event.

(Espanól below)  RIFF is proud to sponsor the very first 48 Hour Film Project for Puerto Rico.   The 48 Hour Film Project is an International Film Challenge competition that takes places in hundreds of cities around the world.   Filmmaker teams have 48 hours to make a film.   


It is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and your team have a blast making a movie. All writing, shooting, editing and scoring must be completed in just 48 hours.   On Friday night, November 6, you are assigned a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, that must be included in your movie. 48 hours later, you must submit your film. Next? Your masterpiece will show on the big screen of a local theater!


In 2014 the 48HFP will visit more than 120 cities where more than 60,000 people will make short films. The Project has truly spread to the four corners of the globe as filmmakers from Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas will compete to see who can make the best short film in a weekend.


Many awards and prizes will be given out to films in the city competition in Puerto Rico.  All submitted films from Puerto Rico will also screen in San Juan on November 14, 2015.    The top 5 Puerto Rican films will also automatically be accepted into the Rincon International Film Festival 2016 !    The #1 winning Puerto Rican film will go on to compete in the International Competition, where the top 10 International Films will screen at Cannes Film Festival.

¿Quiénes somos?

El 48 Hour Film Project es un fin de semana sin dormir y en el que usted y su equipo una hacer una película, escribir, rodar, editar y anotar que en sólo 48 horas.


El viernes por la noche, se obtiene un personaje, un objeto, una línea de diálogo y de un género, todo para incluir en la película. 48 horas más tarde, la película debe ser completa. A continuación, se mostrará en un teatro local, por lo general en la próxima semana.


En 2015, cerca de 60.000 realizadores 120 cine en en las ciudades 7 continentes. Este año, estamos aún más grande, con los cineastas en todo el mundo, teniendo el reto de hacer una película en sólo 48 horas.


Muchos premios  se entregarán por las películas en la competencia en la ciudad capital  de Puerto Rico. Todas las películas de Puerto Rico también se proyectarán en San Juan el 14 de noviembre de 2015. Las 5 mejores películas puertorriqueñas serán también  seleccionadas para ser presentadas en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Rincón 2016! El ganador puertorriqueño de la mejor película pasará a competir en la Competencia Internacional, donde las 10 mejores películas internacionales se proyectarán en el Festival de Cine de Cannes.
