Mission / 2014
The mission of the Rincón International Film Festival is to support and promote culture and the arts in Puerto Rico through the medium of film. The festival seeks to inspire student, future and current filmmakers in the art of filmmaking, and to enhance the movie viewing experience in Puerto Rico through creative, unique and entertaining events. With special award categories for Puerto Rican filmmakers and Spanish Language films as well as International and American Films. Rincón Puerto Rico is also a Surfer's paradise, so the festival also screens great surfing films.
Festival events take place in and around the city, where patrons are able to see great films and also enjoy the beautiful nearby beaches. Come see films playing outdoors under the stars at beautiful beachfront resorts. Dinners, movies, parties and beaches to explore and enjoy. This is truly a filmmakers and film lovers vaction festival.

"As a documentary filmmaker myself, I traveled around the world with my film attending film festivals and thus inspired me to ask my aunt and uncle, owners of the Lazy Parrot, and residents of Rincon, whether this would be something that the community of Rincon and Puerto Rico would enjoy. We launched our first festival in 2008, bringing a unique perspective of screening films beachfront and outdoors at beautiful resorts, and not in stuffy theaters. This also offered a unique opportunity of connecting Puerto Rican films and filmmakers with Hollywood professionals- making an exceptional "International" event. Rincon is a wonderful tourist destination with a vast spectrum of people and was an easy choice for setting up this entertaining festival."
